Jack’s wife Beverly had been best friends with Lucy since Lucy came to work at the same hospital that Beverly works at. Two years ago, Lucy was almost killed in an auto accident and became a religious fanatic as a result of that. Beverly joined in the fanaticism and Jack’s life became misery.
